Tis the season to be crafting, falalalala la la la laaa. Seasonal craft projects to come, but for now a couple of fantastic stocking filler ideas from new guys on the craft block, School of Craft. The innovative box design contains a sewing project plus lots of other ideas and starting points for creative exploration. The inside of the box opens up flat and is designed to be like a magazine with factual information, wordsearches, competitions and further activities. This means that there are hours of play and creativity within each box.

Currently there are two designs in the range. The Lucha Libre Project is designed to appeal to boys (and girls). “We believe boys love to make things and sewing is a skill that they shouldn’t be excluded from, so we designed a Mexican wrestling mask. Our tester makers loved it! They loved to make it and then run around like scary wrestlers.”

Inspired by Art has a more feminine feel without being too whimsical and girly. Inspired by the art of Alexander Calder, it’s a modernist take on a floral bouquet. It looks stylish as a decorative posy on a bedroom shelf, or as a corsage.

Available to buy from the School of Craft website and The Design Museum, The Fashion and Textiles Museum and Olive loves Alfie.
